Weekend Update

Friday: I could barely move a muscle.  I had yoga on Thursday evening, and Inge worked me good! I decided to stay home that morning.  Besides, I was coming home early to deal with the satellite again.  I decided to have DirecTV come in to see if they could do any better than Dish Network.  Yes, they could! They were better! They were wonderful! They were able to put the dish on the roof rather than on the ground without any problem.  I was so frustrated with Dish Network that I booted them out.

I got asked out on a date.  Yikes

Saturday: Crazy, crazy, crazy day.  My date went fairly okay.  Yes, just okay.  It was WEIRD.  He was all over me.  I barely knew him.  I told him I was NOT a touchy feely person, yet he continued to be all over me.  I was SO uncomfortable.  YUCK.  It totally turned me off.  There were times during the date when I thought he seemed super nice and not that bad of a date, yet at the same time, we were sitting on the couch and he was practically sitting on top of me....It was just odd.  He was in the military and so straight and formal.  I'm more comfortable with a more relaxed, easy-going guy.  I like funny guys.  This guy was not funny in the least bit.  He was so serious.  I give him credit though.  He did help me try to get out of my contract.  He spoke to a rep and the guy said he would send a technician out on Sunday to confirm the equipment wasn't working out the way it should (mounted and in place correctly) and as it was expected to be.  All we needed to do was just have the guy confirm it and report it to his supervisor so it would get me out of the contract.

I finally brought Gracie home.  I regret not bringing the crate home for the first night.  She slept outside and cried and cried and cried the entire night.  I felt SO bad.  She cried all morning the next day.

Sunday: I waited and waited and waited for Dish Network to arrive, but the technician never showed up. Frustrated, I left a note on my door and asked him to call me.  He never called.

As of today, Mom called Dish and I'm out of the contract.  Yay! Oddly, they have only asked for the small receiver and the binocular-like thing back and I could do whatever I wanted with the rest.  It is strange.  I have a very LONG cable and a huge satellite dish that I don't know what to do with.  I wish and hope that they just send someone to come pick everything up.  They are losing money if they don't.

Gracie did well last night.  She slept like a baby.  She wasn't quite sure what to do with the stairs and the dog door, but with a little help, she figured it out.  It took a while, though.  This morning, I had to go outside to get her to go through the door.  A few more tries, and she just might get it.  I hope she likes the new yard and the house.  At least she'll be sleeping inside rather than outside.  She should be much happier than being outside all of the time.

I feel sad, though.  I just feel like I "demoted" her! I just have a new house and new furniture and don't really want dog hair all over!!!! Is that so bad to say??!!

Here is a picture of Gracie Sunday morning.  She didn't look too happy after her bad night of sleep.
