Two Dogs Are Exhausting

That damned dog is strong! And determined to get inside the house.  Can I blame her? No! It's hot outside! After Gracie burst through the door and pulled the door out, Raymond came back over and put up a fortress kind of door.  It looks like this:

This worked.  The next day, Gracie bucked to get in.  She kept trying to knock the bottom part of the door in.  I came home that evening after work and heard both dogs (Zoey and Gracie) inside the house! I'll be damned.  Gracie managed to burst through the door again! She somehow managed to knock the door out and push up the wood lever and knock it out.  I was going to let it go.  The next morning, I didn't bother putting the door up.  I was going to let the girls come and go as they pleased.  I gave up.  Mom said she saw Raymond that morning and told him about the door.  He came over and drilled holes in the wood lever and placed nails (pins) lined in to hold the wood in place.  This kept Gracie out.  This worked.  It was successful.  I couldn't get the girls to come in! I called and called their names.  No one came to the door.  I went outside and found them in the dog house (shed) laying in the bed cooling off.  Crazy dogs.

Gracie tried to get in this morning.  Lets hope this continues to work.  Crossing fingers....

As much as I loooove Zoey, I am ready for her owners to return! She's ruining my beautiful floor in my office (her nails need clipping), and I have realized I cannot handle two dogs! Whew! It's EXHAUSTING! But, Gracie is such a mother to her.  It's hilarious.  Ryan came over the other night and found the two in each other's beds.  Gracie in Zoey's and Zoey in Gracie's.  Funny girls.  Sometimes when Zoey won't go outside, Gracie will go first to prompt Zoey.  If Zoey doesn't, Gracie comes back in and sort of touches Zoey to get her to follow her.  Zoey won't most of the time.  Sometimes Zoey is scared of Gracie.  Afterall, Zoey IS on Gracie's turf.  Anyhow, Gracie growls at Zoey for not following her outside.  I cannot help but laugh.  Like I said earlier, having two dogs is exhausting.  I think I'll just stick with one for now.

Zoey and Gracie after a good bark at the horse across the street!
