Dyana's Best Discoveries of the Year...so far!

I have found A LOT...whether it's TV shows or music or just useless information, I'm a much richer girl!

So, here's my list (and not in particular order, either):

1. Dexter - oh, how I've become fascinated by this morbidly grotesque show! I will have to say that this is the first show, maybe in a long time-if ever, that has kept my interest and on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE season(s).

2. Glen Hansard - a beautiful Irish musician. One of the most beautiful songs ever written by him is "Falling Slowly." I love this song, but not because it won an oscar! He's just awesome all over! He gives me chills!

3. Charlie Chaplin - I think I wrote a blog entry about him. I never put much interest into his life nor his movies before until now. Very funny dude.

4. Jason Mraz's "If It Kills Me" song - I don't keep up with the latest songs unless I hear it on TV or something. I never listen to the radio. This song was used in a dance routine for "So You Think You Can Dance." Um, love it!

5. COKE reward points - Yes, I'm slow at the game. From all the cokes I've purchased from the machine at work, you'd think I'd have collected WAY more points but I never paid much attention to it until now.

6. Flirting - I discovered this years ago, yes. But I haven't done this in a VERY long time, up until recently with a cute college boy. It almost made me wish I were much younger again and back in school. Sigh.

7. Foriegn movies - This takes great concentration. You have to read the subtitles while paying attention to the movie. But, I've found the best movies from the foriegn section of Netflix online-movies that I never would have picked up in the store physically. Some favorites- "Paris, Je T'aime," any Audrey Tautou movie, "Water," "The Bitter Years of Petra Von Kant." Well, that's just a few.

8. Exes - You can still be friends with them and not be weird about it. Odd isn't it?

9. Be Yourself - I really, really, really learned that I can be myself without worrying what other people really think of me. Good or bad. I'm taking it as it is.

10. iPhone Camera Feature - I have really come to love this feature! Click, click....and I get the picture I see on the screen. And no, it's not a regular picture. It's what I actually see on the screen. Okay, so it may not make any sense but it does to iPhone users.

Fun! I want to check out that musician now. I"ve never heard of him, but then, I am always late to the party on stuff like that. ;)

My favorite Subtitled films are "My Father's Glory" and "My Mother's Castle." They are so charming!

I am freaked out by the idea of Dexter. Everyone loves it. It must be a good show, but the idea of it keeps me from trying it. We'll see.

Fun stuff!
