It was just a small ball of carpet she had ripped up from pushing the bottom of the crate bed up to get to the carpet. I thought, "Okay, so it's not too bad. She hasn't done this since we first moved in. She must be upset over something." I told her she was a bad dog, and cleaned up the mess she had made. She whined, knew she was in trouble, and was quiet for the rest of the evening. In fact, she slept right by my side the entire night.Yesterday (Wednesday), I came home, thought to myself before making my way over to the crate, "Please don't make a mess. Please don't!" I was absolutely shocked and the most horrible feeling came over me in an instant. This is what I found....

That darn dog pushed the crate bottom out, ripped up not only the carpet but the foam along with it! She ripped it so well, that the bottom crate wires were bent up. She had managed to pull Quackhead from laying on top and ripped him up to pieces. It was her favorite toy.
This is what he looks like now.
His poor limbs are missing. And, he no longer quacks.
And, now look at the ball of carpet I have managed to cut and clean.
This is the Bad Dog look, "I did what?"
I don't know what has upset her. I suppose the only thing that could explain her behavior is that she was able to get the exercise she needed so badly over last weekend, that she has been cooped up in the crate again for the week. I don't walk her or give her the exercise she needs because she is so strong. If you know me well, you know she has given me so many terrible injuries. Living in an apartment makes it hard, too. I feel so bad for my lovely dog.
I'm a bit anxious to come home to see what I find this time. I hope nothing else.
